The Pillar of Cloud and Fire is built of numerous handblown glass vessels in Cobalt blue and Amber, then sandblasted to diffuse the light. The sculpture is designed with 2 lighting features, one to light the pillar of cloud in the day, set to a timer, the pillar of fire is lit in the night. Or both features can be lit for full effect or through transitional hours.

The sculpture represents the eternal light in the desert that guided the Jews through the desert to the holy land, appearing as a pillar of cloud in the day and pillar of fire at night.
