Pillar of Fire
The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.
–Exodus 13:22
Borosilicate and reduced soft glass, from 40 cm to two meters tall
The Pillar of Fire is built of numerous handblown glass vessels. Each lit sculpture is a different size and may contain various glass shapes in amber/gold mix. Glass contains both transparent and reflective surfaces, diffusing the light into a delightful texture.
The sculpture represents the eternal light in the desert that guided the Jews through the desert to the holy land, appearing as a pillar of cloud in the day and pillar of fire at night.
